MUSIC!

Estelle has had music lessons every Wednesday morning this year. Sunday we went to a town called Levens, north of Nice in the hills, for a whole day music/picnic extravaganza.

Above: Estelle has a solo, singing: "Savez-vous planter les choux?", a traditional French children's song. Sort of like the Hokey Pokey but with more class (even though it is about cabbage).
The kid was as clear as a bell into that mike. Totally unphased by the good hundred people watching. Where does that stage presence come from?
During other numbers, Estelle was in the percussion group.
It was a great day and way to end our weekend - which had begun Friday night with yet another birthday party. Pirate themed - for Marco, whose Mom is English.
This was a casual and fun party for Estelle. The two girls in between Estelle and Léna are identical twins whose mom is Australian and herself is one of 8.
Back at home, Léna shushes everyone. Dodo time for bébés.

And lastly, my assortment of bday cards - just this evening I got another one to add in from Calvinet! What you don't see photos of are the OTHER pirate-themed birthday party from Saturday afternoon nor the rehearsal for music Saturday morning nor the school end-of-year fair/festival where I had to work a stand....
Good, but busy, weekend.!
Right now it is June 21st = solstice and thus the Fete de la Musique all over France. It is LOUD out there. Thomas just took off at 10 p.m. to go meet coworkers in the Old Town to hear a band. This little chicky is going to bed!
