One, Two, Three, Four, Five

Estelle turned 5 on Monday (18th). And after that, her next 5 days of being 5 have been VERY busy.....
Birthday: make Barbie clothes with Joanie, read with Grammie on the porch
Check out the ice cream cake I made!

This photo shows 2 dresses given by my Aunt Elaine that have been transformed by Martha into play dresses. They are vintage, both of them and I can't get the pink one off Estelle. It is stunning.
What better way to turn 5: run in the grass with your cousins at dusk.....

Tuesday 19th: Shadow Lake Beach with the gang....

Surprise! Stuart and Asa!
Another surprise - the Tooth Fairy leaves a note, and a dollar to be matched by Grammie with ANOTHER dollar.
Wednesday: Raspberry scones for morning coffee with Aunt Yolande

Weds lunch: Parker Pond at Aunt Cecile and Uncle Ernest

Estelle brushing up on her chess in their camp. Below, Mom and Cecile brush up on the Perron family genealogy with a photo of some of my grandfathers' 12 siblings in Quebec in the 50's.
cooling off back home.....
Creemees with Grammie on the porch swing

Wednesday night, Wes gets in a little reading time with Estelle

Thursday: visit Tyler and Aimee (and Jeanne/Katie, who escaped the lens)

Thursday afternoon - back to Shadow Lake to Stu/Ems beach

Then, BBQ at Wes/Darlene's

Making ice cream in a bag! What fun!

Think she's smiling cause she loves cats? Think again.

Lena catches up on her reading
Fresh eggs from Tyler's chickens!
Back to Shadow beach to beat the heat on Friday morning (22nd)

Running into my cousin Michelle
Then Friday after lunch, the 3-hour drive in 100 degree heat to NH to Lisa/Dan!

Saturday 23rd (my "American anniversary" with Thomas), visit from my super dear friend, Mary and her family.
above: Estelle and Lena enjoy Miranda's company. Below: Mare and Lisa pooling it
And the whole gang joins in
23 years ago Mare and I worked side by side as summer theater interns. Our friendship has weathered many states, cities and countries!

After her pals left, Estelle sat in Aunt Lisa's old childhood rocker:
....and then did a little nude flower watering....

Not a bad way to start the first 6 days of being 5 years old.
