No sooner had I rolled my rental car into Joan's in Glover when my Aunt Susan appeared with my cousin Maria and her daughter Hayley.
First morning at Joan's - both girls piled into my bed to laze about with a book.
Aimee brought Caroline to meet us and Darlene!
Estelle & Heather enjoyed meeting Caroline!
Cousins once removed!
Monday evening: we go to the Aldrich homestead, now owned by Rob Coleman. This was my father's birthplace, and many generations of his family before him!
There's Rob grilling off the back porch.
Celena watches the girls:
Léna explores...
On the left, Iris Coleman, born July 21st, 2006, 3 days after Estelle. On the Right, her little sister Reed, a few months older than Léna.
These 4 girls became fast friends, meeting for the first time at what was the home of their grandfathers. Surreal.
Reading with Joan before bed....
More to come!

More fun in Chittenden County
Baby Wesley was there to support his dad. Mary & Martha did some dancing while Danny & Jacob got their game face on.
This place is called "Little Fenway". It's on private property in Jericho. Pretty neat!
There was a professional face-painter there, for free!
This is the upper field. You can see, on the left, the people in orange who were changing the score behind the wall.
Kids' "Home Run Derby" - Estelle waiting her turn with Martha.
Slugger up to bat.
She gets a hit and runs for it!
Estelle and Champ, the mascot for the Vermont Expos, I mean, Lake Monsters!
Baby Wesley!
Grammie Mary & Baby Wesley!
Jacob playing 3rd base, Jesse pitching...
Martha and Estelle up on the platform to change the score. This was on the lower field, called "Little Wrigley".
Later that afternoon, back at Martha's with Joanie, enjoying the pool!
Fisher Price!
Picking greens...
Homemade pizza and a picnic outside with cousin Addy.
Time to read a book....Thank you Martha & Chris (who was busy working on some plumbing!) for a wonderful 6 days at their home. Thanks to cousins Addy & Alex (who switched rooms with us) for their patience and gracious host attitude!
Special award to the cats, Linus and Lucy for putting up with Léna.
Thursday night, I had gone to see a show at St. Michael's Playhouse, the professional Equity theatre where I worked for 3 summers in 88, 90 and '91. This of course is also the same theatre where I performed for my 4 years of undergrad university.
Chuck Tobin, Artistic Director of the Playhouse. I look a bit odd but I had been crying on the stage - it was emotional to be up on that stage again after so long! A lot of memories!Friday morning - we visited "Aunt" Susie. Here is her pond.
Then we went to Huntington and visited my old highschool friends Aaron & Dori and met their daughter Meadow, who is 8.
Haven't seen these guys in 14 years. They haven't changed at all!
Estelle puts up runners for Morning Glories with Martha.
More swimming!
Richmond farmer's Market - more playing with Cousin Elijah!
I get my first taste of Vermont Switchel!
Friday night: Burger Night at Bread & Butter Farm in Hinesburg/Shelburne. The band that night was called "Bread & Bones". One of the best summer nights I've had in a long time.
Bec had met me here on her motorcycle!
Sparklers at Martha's, using her "Ove Glove!"
What a lot of fun we had. Sunday we packed up in the morning (well I packed up, the girls played all morning with cousin Alex!), and in the afternoon we hit the road for Glover, where we have been living it up for 5 days. Photos on that once I have the time to upload.
