July 8 & 9

Where did we leave off?  Sunday July 8th, we went for dinner at my dad's old farm on Aldrich Lane, now owned by my friends Rob & Celena Coleman:

Or playing on the kitchen floor, where my father played as a child:
Or pretending to be a horse, with a lollipop:
Iris and Estelle are 3 days apart:
The stairs.  To think that my father, his father, his mother, and her father all were children going up and down these stairs.  It's amazing.
Monday July 9th.  A relaxing day with Aunt Joanie.

 Heather comes for pizza dinner:

And a little hula hoop action:
This hula hoop was Martha's early birthday gift to Estelle and it did see quite a bit of fun this summer!

Here is our lovely Glover host, looking thru deck railings that I helped Wes nail on back when he owned the house:

Playing in the early evening summer sunlight:
Nothing more fun than a bath with your best cousin:

Equally great:  bedtime story with Joanie
And this is what two little cousins look like once they've fallen asleep:

Up next: off to New Hampshire!

July 7th - July 9th

For those of you not on Facebook with me, I'll start playing a little bit of "catch up" on this blog with photos from this summer:
After the 4th of July, we spent a weekend between Wayne's baseball game, Shadow Lake, visiting my brother Paul & his family in Waterbury, and heading back to Glover.
Heather and Estelle got to stay overnight at Shadow with Aunt Martha - what fun!
Wayne was in a baseball tournament right in Glover, for the All Star Team!  Here he is at bat:
There are some sand piles to play in at the ball field:
Lots of fun watching the game:  Liz, Wes, Katie, Darlene, Wayne, Peter & Jeanne, Joan, Martha with Lena, & Jacob

Back at the lake, making a fairy house:
 Heaven on earth:
Léna and Cole love to play in the loft:
 2 peas in a pod
Paul George greets me with a Corona - now that's love.
 Chelsea, fresh back from Australia!
These girls got a work out - thanks Lauren & Chelsea!
 Creemee = summer in Vermont.

Prove that he is a great host:  pancakes on a Sunday morning:
 Swing swing swing!
Estelle enjoys her birthday present from Martha - a hand-made hula hoop!
Lesley shows us how it's done....
Big girls and little girls.  Cousins all around.
Sunday afternoon, they took us to the Waterbury Resevoir, where I had never been - what a great spot!

Going on a little walk with Aunt Lesley:

Let's go fly a kite, up to the highest height.....
Sunday afternoon we headed back up to Glover and enjoyed dinner with the Coleman's at the Aldrich Lane farm where my father was born.  Here are the girls with Iris & Reed Coleman, who are the same age as my 2.

What fun we had!
