7 out of 7

Flashback to our last and 7th week out of 7 in Vermont this summer in the beginning of August:  it was full, full, full of activity.
After spending the weekend at Cedric's, we went to Martha's for 4 nights.  On our way there, we drove by Camel's Hump and stopped in Montpelier at the Union School playground.

One last longing look at Demeter/Ceres on the top of the golden dome of the Capitol building:
Then we drove to Richmond and enjoyed views of Camel's Hump:
As soon as we arrived at Martha's, we dove into making blueberry pies with berries from Cedric and berries she & Addy had just picked at Owl's Head.

While in our Pie Frenzy, it hailed.  On August 4th.
 Fruits of our labor:

 Corn, another pleasure:
 Cats:
 Bec stopped by, for pie.
The next morning, there were cartoons to be watched:
 Games to be played:
There was a "film" to be filmed, starring Martha as Adele - but that's another story.  Anyways, that was Monday of our stay with her.  Tuesday was my cousin Debbi and our fantastic visit to the Shelburne Museum (click on this link to see that blog entry), topped off with Martha and I going to see "SHOUT" the musical.

Wednesday:
Bagel lunches with cousins in downtown Burlington to be had:

 Addy, Alex, Katie
Playing in front of Burlington's City Hall:
Visit from Aunt Susie:
 Swimming, as usual:

Visit from Uncle Paul and Aunt Lesley who brought pizza!

Then dessert at Aunt Mary & Uncle Danny's!  Blackberry buckle, yum yum.

Lovely night out on the deck.
Fun with Baby Wesley's toys.
Goodbye Uncle Chris.  Sniff sniff.
Checking out Grammie's new super-duper tub.
Movie Night #2:  Pollyanna with Haley Mills.  Such a special night with special decorations!
Sleeping, or reading?
Goodbye to Martha.  Sniff sniff, extra sniff.  Note the Kleenex.

Early bday presents for Grammie from Uncle Edwin.
Goodbye to Cousin Elijah and Uncle Edwin and Aunt Sandy.
Makeshift school.
Uncle Edwin showing 60 is still very very young.
And then it was time to make a pie.
Fantastic dinner at Wesley & Darlene's out on the porch - we ate like kings.
Visit from 2nd cousins Adelaide and Sebastien - my cousin Monique's kids.
Last night, last meal:  where better to be than Shadow Lake?  With cousin Lillian:

and cousin Anna:
And lots of people for Darlene's birthday, with Wayne's lemon cake.
This was after a great meal by Lisa & Dan!
And to top it all off, fireworks on the lake!

Sunday August 11th:  goodbye Heather:
Goodbye Cole:
Goodbye Aunt Jeanne & Uncle Peter:

What a lot of memories we made in 7 weeks.  My daughters are the luckiest little girls alive to be loved by so many incredible people in America.

Shelburne Museum!

During my last week in Vermont, we spent the afternoon at the Shelburne Museum as guests of my cousin Debbie.
What a great time we had with Debbie, John, and their children Annie & Andrew and grandchildren Jacob, Olivia and Ethan.

For those of you reading this who have no idea what the Shelburne Museum is, it's sort of like Vermont's answer to Disney - but strictly historical.

Here's Olivia:  she is Léna's 3rd cousin, and they were born just days apart.  I think they look alike!

 The Ticonderoga!

 In the schoolhouse!

 Estelle & Jacob playing tag!

One of our best days in America!  Thanks to Debbie & her family for the great outing and wonderful lunch beforehand!
