Cluck Cluck Cluck Scratch Scratch Scratch

Remember this post from January 2009?
Well, lucky us.  Here we go again.  But "Varicelle" unfortunately doesn't have a nice catchy rhyme with "Léna".......

EASTER!

The Easter Bunny left a nibbled carrot.  This is what Estelle had to tell me, in a whisper, at 6:40 a.m.
In France, flying bells bring hens full of chocolate pieces in the shapes of fish and seashells.
Léna is happy to see her hen.
After Easter mass today, we went to Antibes to see Chantal for Easter dinner.  We enjoyed a little egg hunt in her garden.

 More chocolate bunnies!

Chantal made a delicious leg of lamb!

I made yet another cheesecake.  It looked so beautiful.  But the texture was just not quite right.
After that cheesecake, it was time for a walk along the sea at Cap d'Antibes.  I had never done this walk before.

A  little stop on the beach.....

 It was hot!

A lovely Easter day.  In spite of all our challenges, we are lucky, and blessed.

Estelle in the Newspaper!

Wednesday, I got a text msg from a friend saying "Estelle's photo is in the paper!".  This week is "La Semaine de la Presse" - i.e. Journalism Week, and Estelle's class has been learning about the profession, etc.  Tuesday morning, some journalists came to speak to Estelle's class - and lo and behold, their photo appeared in the paper the next day.
In the background you can see Michelle Boy (pronounced "bwah"), the blond woman, who is Estelle's teacher this year, and next year too.  The other woman is the school principal.
Estelle was quite proud to see her photo, with all her classmates!  I'm not sure how she wound up front and center, but we're glad we put flowers in her hair that morning.
