America, Part 2: VT, New Hampshire & the 4th of July

Cousin Alexandra shows the girls a good time in Aunt Martha's pool.
Sunday June 30th:  Leaving Richmond after 6 great days!  Thanks Martha & Chris & Addy!
Arrival in Glover:  Uncle Paul gives great hugs.

The boys (Peter, Paul, Cedric) breaking down the crib that had been Chelsea & Lauren's!

 Twin sandwich!
Paul with his "joke teeth" in!
Cousin shish kebab!  Cole, Wayne, E & L, Heather.  Summer's greatest moments.

Bedtime in cozy beds at Joanie's (waiting for the new trundle beds to arrive very soon!)

Tuesday July 2nd:  visiting with Iris & Reed Coleman at the Aldrich Homestead!

The house where my father was a baby and a young boy!

Playing in the backyard, where my father would have played.

Eating in the house where my father would have eaten, with his sisters and brothers, and his father before him, and his mother before that.....pretty incredible!

Rob Coleman, who now owns what was the Aldrich Homestead.  Such a great host!

Early bday cake for Iris & Estelle who are 3 days apart.

Back at the ranch:  Movie night at Joanie's!

Wednesday July 3rd:  off to New Hampshire!

The 4th of July was chock full of fun:  the Parade, starring Lisa in full costume on the Historical Society float with Dan in the truck cab.  So great!

Who is that crazed woman in the bonnet?

With Anna, we had a great spot to watch at the home of a friend of Lisa's, right on the town green.  Mom had a shady spot just a few yards behind us on the same kind friend's porch.  Perfect!

After the parade, we had a great chicken BBQ feast at the fairgrounds followed by lots of great kiddee games.  This was some crazy bungee game.  Estelle loved it:
 The next Arnold Palmer?
 Estelle, determined as ever:
 This misting sprinkler was great!
But not as great as jumping in the car, racing back home and hurtling into the pool.   Atomic popsicles afterwards sealed the deal.  It's officially the 4th of July in America.  Fun Fun Fun!

4th of July nighttime bonfire at the fairgrounds before the fireworks!

Sparklers on the grass, waiting for fireworks.  We ran into our cousin Cathy Urie & Zane!

We swam every single day in Lisa & Dan's pool!   Léna practiced diving for toys.  She's really getting good!
Estelle, meanwhile, takes her pool games very seriously.

Post 4th of July:  Anna left and Lisa gave the girls late/early bday gifts!
Bye bye Anna, thanks for playing with us SO MUCH!

Ice cream with Grammie at Dodge's Farm Stand.

Lots of fun to jump off a rack into a sand pile.

Making patriotic cookies with Auntie Lisa.
Léna wearing her Miscellany Mart dress.  So pretty!  Aunt Martha got this dress for free and fixed it up!
Saturday morning, July 6th:  Whipple Free Library - Estelle gets a private "Wii" tutorial!  So fun!

Open House at the New Boston Historical Society:  admiring Lisa's great display of 4th of July's in the past! 4 1/2 busy busy days!

Whew! What a whirlwind of fun you and the girls had! How neat that you all got to see Lisa and Dan in the parade, and visit the historical society! I wanna come to Joanie's popcorn and movie night too! Did she buy a popcorn machine? How neat is that!

Love those pictures of the twin sandwich (whhhaaat is with those joke teeth?), you look great in them with that new short 'do! (Tell Estelle that "hairdo" is a real English word and not just one that I made up...)

Beautiful shots of the Aldrich homestead, and the one of the girls on Dodges Farm Rock is just wonderful. Fun to play with my little cousins, and looking forward to seeing you up in Glover in August.
