Oboe recital April 3 2019

Warning, this video is almost 6 minutes long!

This recital got off to a bad start when I arrived a good 15 mins early only to discover it had already begun and we had even missed Estelle's "spot" in the program!

Estelle's professor had moved up the recital by 30 mins and Estelle had sort of slipped thru the cracks to be told about it because of her juggling other rehearsals for other concerts.

Anyways, no big deal but she was a bit rattled by it all and things got off to a rocky start when she began to play.  My filming as you'll note ALSO began poorly since I was stuck in a corner of the room balancing between chairs etc due to my late entrance.

All in all, not her best work but not bad for someone who had been in a cast just 3 weeks prior and hadn't played for a month before that!

Bravo, Estelle, we listened to it twice! It was beautiful! Hard to believe you were recently in a splint!!It is always fun to see you, even if you weren't performing.
Love from Grammie and Joanie

Wow!!! That was incredible, Estelle. You had such fast trills and yet you played them beautifully.
You always impress me with how advanced you are!
Love, Aunt Lisa

Great job Estelle, that has to be one of the hardest pieces ever created to play and yet you performed it so well! It sounded like three or four songs melded into one. Next time you come back from a broken arm tell them you want something easier and shorter. love Uncle Wesley and Aunt Darlene
