Today Estelle got a belated bday gift using funding from Papy & Manou.
This wooden castle is from a UK brand which we have admired in a nearby toy boutique. The original price was 250 USD. Don't worry! We got a BIG discount! But really, come on, for a castle? puh-lease.
Today Thomas was up at 7 a.m. to watch France in the Rugby World Cup. So bizarre to have him up and about at 7 on a Saturday. Sadly France lost to Tonga. Here's Daddy lamenting:
A few videos from today - one is Estelle's diatribe comparing how to play rugby vs. playing at recess, all whilst attacking a pain au chocolat quite early this a.m. 2nd: attempting to film Estelle discovering her castle gift. It's pretty bad so only watch if you have nothing to do whilst filing your nails.

Just love Estelle holding court over the breakfast table. No idea what the heck she was talking about (except the players are fat and good men?) What a cool castle!
I have to admit the castle does have some cool features. Like a music box built in that you activate by turning a wooden harp. And a movable rope ladder - kind of like the ones Joan has in the closets to jump out of her house in case it goes up in flames. Also there's a well that goes thru a floor and has a bucket on the end of a rope. And a bell in the tower. Yes it has some cool stuff!

Did you have to put the castle together? It looks really neat! Love that Estelle walked right by it to put away a book! She has been trained well! The pain du chocolate looks more exciting than the game, but sorry for France not winning! Perhaps Estelle and Lena will get to play rugby and "football" someday and Thomas could coach! Lena's vocab has really increased a lot!

No idea what Estelle is saying as she jabbers on! Love to hear her speak French! And can I just say that I was surprised to hear how much Lena is talking now! Fun to hear her speak French too!
Delightful! I loved it all, even the French explanation of soccer which I understood zilch...The castle looks pretty adorable, too. Hey, you gotta put one toy away before you get into the next one, right? The chocolate bread looked delicious. Is Lena really conversing in French now? Seemed like it. Great to see you all!
